Beauty Over Brains: Beauty Pageants Today Still Value Looks More Than Intelligence

After hearing me say that I didn’t think a beauty pageant contestant was necessarily a “role model” she specifically wanted me to know that whether I like it or not – she and other contestants were definitely going to be role models to my two daughters. I see the benefit of putting yourself out there and I’m certainly not saying what they do isn’t hard work strutting around in heels while wearing a bikini on national television would be in my top 5 of worst nightmares, ever.
